Maiden Bradley Important!

Keegan Bradley survived his compatriot Jason Dufner in a play-off to claim the USPGA Championship 93rd in Atlanta Athletic Club on Sunday.

Thus, Bradley became the first player to win in his first appearance in a major since Ben Curtis at Sandwich in 2003, and only the third player to do so in the history of the game.

At one point Dufner had looked a sure winner who shot a five-stroke advantage with only four holes to play after closest rival Bradley had a triple bogey and six carded after loading a chip through the green and in the stream 15.

But 25 years, has produced a brilliant birdie on the answer to both 4:17 p.m. on the way to send a target of eight clubs under par.

Dufner, who had cut an extremely complex on the last lap, also went into battle during the final stretch of the journey lasts Highlands as he carded three consecutive bogeys 15, 16 and 17 to join Bradley in eight below.

Commendable 34-year-old made a brave par down the last to force a three-hole playoff.

Dramatic birdie

But after a spectacular birdie at the first of these holes, 16, Bradley was always in charge and had the cushion of a two-stroke lead that made their way to the final hole 18 and a second time.

It Dufner provocation succeeded in producing a fine birdie of his own, but Bradley kept a cool head to record a solid two-putt couple who were good enough to ensure him a maiden triumph.

Dufner's late stumble regulations came into play somewhat of a surprise, given that the first three days of competition, which was three under par on holes 15 and 18 to 2 better than anyone in the field.

But it had to end, they are almost all at some point.

Anders Hansen of Denmark was left to rue a bogey on 16 cost, the only blemish an excellent final round of 66, when he finished one stroke behind the leader at seven under par on his own in third place .

Robert Karlsson was another to go wrong, the Swede had produced a load of sensational start to nine under par and right in the quake, but he closed with three straight bogeys to finish in a share in the fourth together with the Americans David Toms (67) and Scott Verplank (70).

The disappointment of English Duo

Adam Scott alone in seventh place after a closing 68, English duo Luke Donald and Lee Westwood finished joint eighth, their mistakes late in the third round showed too much to recover.

The world number one Donald so annoyed with himself for double-bogeyed the last hole of his third round and delay of six, only three were left after playing his first 12 holes in four under.

But he also went to the water and only 15 would go on to bogey the last and along the road 68

Westwood suffered the same fate last, even if proved to be his only bogey of the second day marked by frustration on the greens.

World number two lost opportunities birdie at the short second and fifth holes, as he failed to build momentum at the beginning it desperately needs to generate a realistic challenge.

There were top-20 finish for the South African duo Charleville Schwartzel and Trevor Immelman and Spaniard Sergio Garcia, then a final round surge expected Steve Stricker failed to materialize when he also finished with seven left on one under.

Further down the field Londoner Brian Davis finished level par, four over Ian Poulter, Ross Fisher five courses, Simon Dyson and Paul Casey six courses of 14 courses.
