Jodie Williams ready for Diamond League debut in London!

Jodie Williams will make her Diamond League debut at the London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on Friday.

The 17-year-old, who completed a sprint double at July's European Junior Championships, will race in the 200m.

She will face Americans Shalonda Solomon and Bianca Knight, first and seventh fastest in the world in 2011.

"It will be great for me. I know the field will be really strong and that kind of company will only push me to do better and run faster," said Williams.

"I'm feeling really good on track at the moment. I want to keep on racing as much as I can to ensure that I keep on improving and finish 2011 on a high.

"Going into the European Under-23 Championships in Tallinn, I didn't think I'd been performing to my potential, so after racing well there it's given me the confidence boost I needed to compete in a Diamond League meet."
